Hello BUY Supporters!
I was planning on putting a MAC video out, but I was curious on how many people actually needed it. Please let me know if you require some help with the MAC stuff or if the old webpage is still loading. Also it is important to consider if you are on a school or work network there may be nothing you can do to pull up the old site. For example, on the Bloomington Public Schools network in Minnesota, the webmaster still has to refresh their system so you can view the site.
For those of you that are confused on how this system works, I will make a little diagram on what I am talking about.
There are a few major things one should know before looking at this diagram. There are a couple major players in this, 1) Servers (machines that hold information) 2) Your computer and internet connection.
So here is how it works:
You type in a web address, your computer uses that web address to find the page that is located on a server somewhere in the world, it asks for permission and then the page appears on your screen. You click anything on the page, it goes to the server. Why? This is because all the information (text, files, data) is on the server.
I would post a video on how the internet works, however youtube has taken care of that for me. If you are still confused (which is okay) please go to youtube and type in "how the internet works" make sure to look for an updated video because no, we do not use telephone lines for internet anymore, however some may, but generally most do not!
